Commuter Benefits

The Center offers a Commuter Benefit Plan administered by Clarity Benefits Solutions. This plan allows you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for qualified workplace mass transit and parking expenses incurred when commuting to and from work.

Transit includes public transportation like buses, trains, and qualified Vanpool. Parking includes permits, daily fees, or meters when parking near work.

Reminder: You must keep ALL receipts for FSA spending per IRS guidelines!

EligibilityImmediate with no waiting period.

Employees may enroll, suspend or terminate participation at any time.

Temporary employees are ineligible. 
Contribution AmountEmployees choose how much to contribute each month based on normal commuting expenses (e.g. the cost of a 30-day MTA Unlimited Ride MetroCard). This amount is then calculated to a weekly payroll deduction in pre-tax dollars and deposited to a transit debit card. 

The maximum monthly deduction allowed by the IRS is $340.
