Paid Time Off

Vacation Leave

All full-time exempt and non-exempt employees shall accrue up to 15 days of vacation leave per year (1.25 days per month). Maximum accrual is based on full-time employment.  Part-time employees who regularly work 15 hours or more shall accrue vacation leave on a pro-rata basis. For example, a part-time employee who works 20 hours per week shall accrue seven and one-half (7.5 days) of vacation leave per year. Vacation leave accrual begins upon commencement of employment and may be taken following successful completion of the 90-day orientation period. All exempt and non-exempt full-time employees shall accrue one additional vacation day per year after their third anniversary of employment to a maximum of 10 additional vacation days. A maximum of 105 vacation hours may be carried from calendar year to calendar year; adjustments to annual accrual amounts will be made the following January.

Eligibility is after 90 days of employment.

Sick Leave

Full-time and part-time employees who regularly work 15 hours or more will accrue 0.0462 hours of sick time for every hour worked, up to a maximum accrual of 84 hours (i.e. 12 days each calendar year).

Eligibility is after 15 days of employment.

The Center provides two personal days per year for full-time employees. Part-time employees who regularly work 15 hours or more accrue personal leave on a pro-rata basis.

Bereavement Leave

Full-time employees and part-time employees who work fifteen (15) or more hours are eligible for paid bereavement leave of up to five (5) work days or scheduled shifts in the event of a death of the employee’s immediate family and loved ones. For purposes of this policy, immediate family and love ones means a child, spouse, domestic partner, parent, sibling (including half siblings, step siblings, or siblings related through adoption), grandchild, grandparent, the child or parent of the employee’s spouse or domestic partner, any other individual related by blood to the employee, and any other individual whose close association with the employee is the equivalent of a family relationship. Employees must inform their supervisor and the Chief People and Equity Officer prior to commencing bereavement leave. In administering this policy, The Center may require verification of death and relation to the deceased.

Sabbatical Leave

On the 1st of the month following 10 years of continuance service, full-time employees in good standing are eligible to request an 8 week sabbatical.  For each additional 5 years of continuance service, eligible employees may request a 4 week sabbatical. No single sabbatical may last longer than 12 weeks.
