Are my dependents eligible?
Your eligible dependents include:
- Your legal spouse;
- Your domestic partner
- Your children up to age 26
Your domestic partner is eligible for benefits if they are not a relative and has lived with you for at least six months in a committed relationship and you intend on living together indefinitely. A declaration will be required. For more information about domestic partner benefits, contact the People team.
When can I make changes to my benefits?
Your benefit elections remain in effect for the entire plan year. During each annual enrollment period you will have the opportunity to review your benefit elections and make changes for the coming year.
Qualifiying events to make enrollment changes during the plan year include but are not limited to:
• Marriage, divorce, or death of a spouse or domestic partner;
• Birth, adoption, placement for adoption, death, custody, reaching the dependent age limit, and marriage of a child or dependent;
• A change in your, your spouse or domestic partner’s employment that affects your benefits eligibility (starting a new job, leaving a job, starting or returning from an unpaid leave of absence or changing from part-time to full-time status, etc.);
• Change in your spouse or domestic partner’s benefit coverage with another employer that affects eligibility;
• New entitlement to Medicare or Medicaid
You must notify the People team within 30 days following the date of a qualifying life event. If you do not contact the People team within 30 days following the life event, you will have to wait until the next open enrollment window to make changes.
